University Identification Numbers (UINs)

UINs identify students, employees, and others in U of I System records. Each nine-digit UIN is unique and permanent across the System. UINs never expire and are never re-used.

Only units may request that a UIN be created; a person cannot request a UIN on his own behalf. See University Identification Numbers (UINs) on the Treasury Operations' website for more information about the request process.
